Image formed by convex mirror
(Image formation by spherical mirror)
Since focus(F) in a convex mirror and center of curvature(C) are located behind the mirror, so the object can have only two positions, one at an infinite distance and the other between the pole and infinity of the mirror.
(a) When the object is at infinity :-
When the object is at an infinite distance, the incoming rays appear to diverge from the focus of the mirror, and the image is formed at the focus of the convex mirror.
Position of Image :- At focus(F) behind the mirror.
Size of Image :- Very Small, point image.
Nature of Image :- Virtual and Erect.
(b) When the object is between infinity and pole :-
When the object is situated anywhere between the pole of a convex mirror and infinity, the image is formed between the pole of the mirror and the focus, which is behind the mirror.
Position of Image :- Between pole(P) and focus(F), behind the mirror.
Size of Image :- Very Small.
Nature of Image :- Virtual and Erect.
