Mechanical Properties of solids
……..is focused on how solids objects behave when they are stretched, compressed and bend. How much they resist to the external force (deformation force) and what are the energy consideration during there deformation, i.e., does they store some energy when deformed?
For example when we stretch a rubber by applying some force, it deforms and when it is released, it again regains its original shape.
But if we take a chalk and apply some external force on it, the chalk breaks and does not show any tendency to regain its original shape.
